Day 13 - Cleanliness is next to Godliness ... don't think that's how I'm gonna get cloes to God

If you haven't noticed already, I'm back dating a bit here.  This post was actually for Monday 28th of February.


Yesterday felt like spring cleaning day at my house.

When we moved, 'Housemate' and I agreed that we would have a cleaning deal. Each week we are responsible for either cleaning the bathroom and kitchen or cleaning the floors and dusting the whole house. We have the whole week to do the job and then the following week things swap around and we do the other role. Given that our cleaning procedures at the last place consisted of 'when we feel like it', or 'when things got so disgusting we couldn't stand it any more' or 'people are coming over, we need to clean', this is a big and promising step for us both.

So yesterday we scrubbed, we brushed, we sprayed and we hosed down. After all that effort it felt great! I keep forgetting how great a feeling of accomplishment we get from the basic household chores.  I'm also reminded of this now that we no longer have a dishwasher and must do the washing by hand (we definitely live in the dark ages now). But it seems to work better ... well one week in!
