Day 11 - Green Thumb, Green Shins, Green Legs, Green Everything!

Today was spent cleaning the garden of our old rental place 'The Castle'. It was a big job and took us all afternoon but now it's looking spick and span, ready for inspection ... at least the outside of it.

While the others did a lot of weeding and cleaning windows I got out Dad's lawnmower and whippersnipper. I am so grateful for that mower and whippersnipper!

While we were living there I took it as my job to mow the lawns - something that I'd never done before.  I'll admit that a couple of times my dad came by and mowed for us but I did do the majority of the mowing during our lease and I enjoyed it!

There were a couple times when I was feeling really down and getting the mowing done gave me a great sense of achievement. It also made me feel pretty good to do something that had been a 'boys job' around my house while growing up. On top of all that it was a workout that got me exercising and the endorphins going and that often led to me getting back into dancing, starting boxing or going to the gym.

Last Saturday and the final mowing job at 'The Castle' and learning how to start and use the whippersnipper brought those feelings back to me again... I might even miss it!
